Life Goes On…

It has been only two weeks since I returned from my vacation near Venice, Italy. I’ve been meaning to get back into gear further developing jeroenmulder.com, but I have been a bit occupied.
The vacation turned out to be a very welcome one and didn’t go much further than sitting on the beach reading a book. Of course, we paid Venice a visit and photos should be done soon. Here’s one from the St. Marco square.
Right after returning from vacation, a very large and important cricket tournament started at VRA in Amsterdam. Cricket? Yes, cricket has been one of those sports that is played throughout our entire family and inevitably I participated into it since the first day I was born. I have stopped playing cricket around three years ago. Nonetheless, I still try to visit matches and contribute to the club by helping—in this case, volunteering to help making the “Videocon Triangular Cricket Tournament” a huge success. We’re not talking kids play here, we’re talking about national teams from Australia, India and Pakistan with an expected 500 million people watching it on TV.
Due to Holland’s ‘lovely’ weather, the first three matches were either cancelled or shortened due to heavy rainfall. Miraculously, the final played on Saturday (August 28) turned out to be great. The weather did its part and allowing for a full 100 overs match and Australia and Pakistan did their part making it a very nice final to watch.
On another note and one that explains the title; school started again. I have officially entered my second year of studying “Communication & Multimedia Design” at Haagse Hogeschool in The Hague. First period includes accessibility and usability studies (heuristic evaluations) as well as building a mock-up for a new web site design. Joy.
More following soon.
